Nicholas Frank Conzo of Hauppauge, New York peacefully passed surrounded by family on August 11, 2023 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Angela. Loving father of Richard Conzo, his wife Karen Conzo, and Robert Conzo, his wife Myra Conzo, and Lori Conzo, her husband Paolo Lombardo. Dear brother of Jeanne Martello and Mary Ann Romano. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Jason, and Isabella.
Nicholas (“Nick”) Conzo was born in Brooklyn and moved to Long Island with his wife and high school sweetheart, Angela – they were married for 60 years. He was a person who worked tirelessly and was deeply principled. Nick and Angela had three children, and shared a wonderful extended family and many lifelong friendships. While raising a family and working full time, he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In his early career he worked as a teacher and principal while also running his own business fixing TVs. Later, he was a founding partner in his own electrical engineering firm for over 25 years.
Nick was known as a champion of the underdog and would very often pay special attention to those others may have overlooked. A fun-loving and gentle person, he was deeply adored and respected by all who had the honor of knowing him whether as a family member, friend or colleague. He was known as an incredible teacher/mentor, guiding and helping others throughout his life. A renaissance man who was truly multi-talented: electronics – music – teaching – math – history – business – finances – magic – boating – etc. etc. etc. Nick simply put his mind to something and did it – typically alone with no fanfare.
A uniquely prideful yet humble man who lived for his family and always provided for them-Nick will be remembered by all as an outstanding example of how to live life. Although his battle with cancer was heart wrenching, throughout it all he never once complained, got angry, or looked to blame. He went out with strength, dignity and courage. Even in death he was teaching us all a life lesson. We are celebrating his life and don’t have to wish him to Rest in Peace because we know he will. We will love you forever and thank you endlessly.
