Nancy Mastracchio, age 75, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023, with her adoring husband of 55 years, Roger, by her side. She is also survived by her beloved daughters Dawn and Lisa (Lustig) and her precious granddaughters Lola and Gigi.
Nancy, daughter of Arthur and Carmela Stagnitta, was a graduate of W.H. Maxwell Vocational HS, where she trained to be a hairstylist — which would be the first of her careers. She also worked as a floral designer and medical biller. The common thread was that she loved to work with the public.
The Mastracchios met in their hometown of Brooklyn, NY, married in 1968 and settled in Tudor Village, Ozone Park, NY, where they would reside for 46 years. Their neighbors would become lifelong friends, with whom they celebrated holidays and milestones and enjoyed vacations.
In 2017, Nancy and Roger relocated to Leisure Village in Ridge, NY, where they shared activities with their new friends and Nancy became very involved with planning events, such as Oktoberfest and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
But Nancy’s greatest pleasure was spending time with Roger, her daughters and granddaughters, Mark, Jack, her sister Elaine, brother-in-law Jim, goddaughter Jessica, Ryan, and her many cousins, who were her very first friends.
Nancy will be remembered as being strong-willed and resilient. She touched many lives with her loving heart and will be missed dearly.
