Obituary:

Mildred Jean Stoltz Daly, age 84, passed away on April 17, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Vero Beach, Florida. “Millie” died peacefully with daughters Maureen and Dorothy by her side. Her faithful dog and companion “Albert” was close by. Millie was born on December 3, 1930 in the Bronx, New York. She loved New York and it was here where she met and married her Irishman, (“the only boyfriend she ever had”) Michael Thomas Daly and married in 1950. Millie loved anything Irish especially the music, she could sing any Irish song requested, and quite well as her children know. She loved to read, write, draw, paint and especially she loved to shop. Millie was full of wise advice for her children and others and had a fabulous sense of humor, which she used to buoy others in stressful times . Millie loved her family and friends and was particularly attentive to those with the most needs,if you met her she would quickly become your friend as she immediately put your wishes above her own. She truly loved people and was kind, generous, nurturing, understanding, compassionate and selfless to all. Millie worked for 10 years for the New York Psychiatric Department where she was able to put her gifts to use working with disabled people in a homelike setting. She is survived by her nine children, Regina Doty (Ken) James Daly (Debbie) Maureen Sabia (Rich), Elizabeth Johnson (Jim) Catherine D’Amore (Tom) Patricia Abraldes (Pete) Dorothy Rowsell,(George)Tommy Daly ( Colleen) and Tim Daly. She is also survived by one brother, John McInerny ( Joan) and one sister, Joan Ahlers, and a sister in law, Terry McInerny, Millie has 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She will be welcomed and embraced in heaven by her beloved husband Michael Thomas Daly, her mother and father Anna McInerny Gunther & Adolf Stoltz, her brother Joe McInerny and by her granddaughter, Jenny Johnson.
