On Monday, July 31st, 2023, Michael Joseph Nappi, beloved father, Pop-pop, and friend, flew home to rest in Heaven’s paradise at the young age of 68. Michael Nappi was born on June 30th, 1955 to parents Michael and Madeline Nappi. Their young son was raised in Ozone Park, Queens NY, with two older sisters; the late Loretta Hoenig, and the late CarolAnn Nappi. Michael studied at Thomas Edison Career and Technical High School, Queens, NY.
After his studies, Michael began his sensational career as an electrical engineer, in gainful employment with the LIRR, and furthered his career with International Union of Operating Engineers Local 30, where he created lasting friendships and bonds.
Michael, whom is divorced from Donna Stissi, parented five girls; Kristen Stissi, Danielle Nappi, Kaitlyn Nappi, Madelyn Nappi, and CarolAnn Nappi-Armine. Michael leaves behind two grandchildren, Victorea Madden, and Michael Bacalla.
Michael’s children and grandchildren were this warrior’s reason for breathing. Michael was loved by all who knew him. He was a true survivor who did not allow the pain and suffering of daily health burdens make him a victim. Michael had an indisputable spirit, a quick wit and compassion for others. He would give without question, even if he hadn’t had it himself.
Michael enjoyed creating memories with his family and the ones he leaves behind will hold them dear to their hearts. His legacy will continue to thrive in his children’s world, and his memory will always be in the hearts of the people who were honored to know him.
