• We are sad to announce that on Thursday October 5, 2023, our beloved father, Michael Francis Quinlan, 75, of Manorville, NY, formerly of Hampton Bays, NY, departed this earthly life after a long battle with cancer while visiting with family.  His words of advice and humor will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

    He was born January 29 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late William and Rita Quinlan of Center Moriches NY.

    Surviving are his son Michael (Paveena) Quinlan Jr.  of Whispering Pines, NC and his daughter Michelle (Christopher) Whitman of Jamestown NY; his 3 grandchildren who were the light of his life, grandson Steven Whitman of Jamestown NY, and his 2 granddaughters Ava and Teagan Quinlan of Whispering Pines NC as well as 5 sisters: Kathleen (Sidney) Hays of Stony Creek NY,  Patricia Murdock of Rochester NH, Rita (Steven) Szewczuk of Vienna VA, Deborah Quinlan of Deering NH and Diane Nosbisch of Barrow Alaska.

    He graduated from Center Moriches High School in 1965.  He entered the Police Academy in 1969 and graduated February 13, 1970.  He was a Suffolk County Highway Patrolman until retirement in 1981.

    The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday October 11th at the Moloney-Sinnicksons Funeral Home at 203 Main St. in Center Moriches

    Burial will follow at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.

    Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
