Michael F. Ryan

Michael Ryan of Miller Place, NY passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved father of Diane Ryan, Michael Ryan and Cindy Purschke. Predeceased by his loving son-in-law, Joseph Purschke, and his sister, Patricia Tarello.  Loving grandfather of Kristen, Kevin, Caitlin, Connor, Emma and Sarah.

Michael served in the Navy on the USS Wasp during the Korean War. After the Navy, he joined the Nassau County Police Department where he served for 35 years. He retired as a Sergeant of the Bureau of Special Operations.

Michael loved to travel. He was happiest when spending time with his family and petting the family dogs. He was an avid reader and history buff.  He also loved his sweets.

He will be waked from 3-7pm on Tuesday June 1, 2021 at Moloney’s Port Jefferson Station Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony’s Church in Rocky Point, NY on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 9:30am livestreamed. Burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
