Mary C. Watson

Mary Catherine Watson, 89 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning 9/8/22 in Huntington, NY. Mary was a proud Mother of six, John(Teddi), Barbara (deceased 2020) Lawrence (deceased 1957) Lynn (Buster), Mary (Kit), & Joseph (Kathy). Mary was a loving grandmother & felt blessed to have 10 wonderful grandchildren. Lyndsey, Mary & Samantha, John V & Leanne, Christopher, Joseph Jr., Matthew, Sean & Jenna. Her grandchildren remember how she loved to watch “spooky” movies with them! She was blessed once again with 10 great grandchildren. She loved her children & grandchildren & she reveled in their accomplishments.
Mary loved taking road trips with her husband Tom (who preceded her in death) during their 31 years of marriage and with her sister & brother in law, Ann & Sam DiStasi. Sometimes her younger brother, Charlie & his wife, Pat joined them on their trips. These were some of Mary’s happiest times. She loved collecting rocks, shells & autumn leaves on her trips. She painted her shells & rocks & along with her leaves made beautiful displays in her home & her garden.
Mary loved going to church & prayed daily. She loved & missed her Mom & prayed for her on a daily basis.
In her younger days, Mary & her twin Jeannie were often referred to as beauty queens or movie stars! They were models together in a magazine before they both were married. They were known to show up at events wearing the same outfits without ever discussing it with each other! Mary lived with Alzheimer’s for over 18 years. She handled this disease with grace, prayers & a fighting spirit. Mary will be greatly missed by her family & friends.
