On November 9, 2023, Mark Stephen Rose, known to most as G-Dad, passed away at peace in his Blue Point home. He was born in 1942 to Milly and Clare Rose in Patchogue, NY.
A life-long resident of Blue Point, Mark spent his summers on Fire Island and enjoyed boating on the Great South Bay. He was a graduate of Seton Hall H.S. & a proud graduate of Siena College. Mark went on to become a prominent local businessman who touched a great many people along the way. Known as true “beer people”, Mark and his brother, Ric, had great success in continuing one of the largest privately owned companies on Long Island, supplying millions of people with their favorite beverages. Although retired as Chairman Emeritus, Mark would frequently still show up to the “shop” & walk the warehouse or offices exchanging greetings, stories & smiles with the Clare Rose Family he so dearly loved.
G-Dad was truly happiest when surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 37 years, Joy, as well as 7 children; Bridget (Tim), Stacey, JJ, Sean (Michelle), Bay, Mark II, and Britton (Rachel), 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Marks faith was unmatched, his philanthropic work was broad, and his compassion for others was endless. Marks unwavering love, respect and generosity for his family and friends is a tribute that will be cherished & remembered.
