Marilyn (Kohlhepp) Sulima passed away peacefully on Tuesday Sept 20th in Oakdale, New
York. Marilyn was born January 7, 1930 in Hicksville and grew up in East Islip and Islip Terrace.
Marilyn married Frank Sulima in 1952 and they settled in East Brentwood to raise their family.
Marilyn and Frank were very involved with the East Brentwood Fire Department and their Drum
and Bugle Corp and Twirling team.
Marilyn loved her New York sports teams especially the “Mets” and “Islanders”. She was a
member of the Suffolk County Women’s Bowling Association and the New York State Women’s
Bowling Association.
Marilyn was an avid crocheter and made many blankets for the Fireman’s home in upstate New
York and the local Veterans Hospital.
Marilyn is survived by her children Frank Sulima, wife Lynn and their daughter GraceAnn, Heidi
Garozzo, husband Joseph and their children Nicholas and Elizabeth, Renee Baretsky, husband
Peter and their children Gabrielle and Peter.
