Marilyn Moldovan, of Cresco, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning January 11th at her home, attended by her husband and son. She was cared for at home during the last month of her life by her family and the excellent staff of St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem, PA.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 3, 1946, Marilyn was the daughter of the late John and Jane Carvino. She graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview, NY; SUNY Farmingdale in Farmingdale, NY; the NY Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, NY and Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. She was employed by the Grumman Corp, later the Northrop Grumman Corp. for 49 years until her retirement in 2013.
Marilyn was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY for many years. She loved helping others, and was an avid sponsor of Save the Children and of World
Vision. Marilyn liked watching General Hospital, potato chips and chocolate, and anything to do with family. She had a tight circle of girlfriends they called the BFFs who are missing her desperately.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Thomas; son Daniel and his partner Caleb Rohrbacher of NYC, NY; by her sister Jane and brother-in-law Lee Malpass of Sunset Beach, NC; by her sister Catherine LiVecchi Mikucki of Swiftwater, PA; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law and extended family. She was beloved by her family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her niece Kim Malpass Vines and her brother-in-law John Mikucki.
