Marie "Mimi" T. Denton

Marie Denton, 91 years of age, passed on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Oasis Nursing Home in Center Moriches, NY. Fondly known to all as Mimi, she was born in Porrentruy, Switzerland. Mimi was educated in St. Germain-en-Laye, France where she met and married, John P. Denton (an American Marine) and two children were born of this union. As the wife of a 20 year veteran, her family moved to many different places during their marriage and settled in Moriches, NY. Mimi was a pre-school teacher and then later a medical technician at Stony Brook University Hospital. She loved music and was very involved in the Church Folk Group where she played guitar and sang with her daughter Cathy, her granddaughter Stephanie and many wonderful friends. She was an avid cook, loved knitting and enjoyed fishing and boating. Mimi leaves behind her children Catherine (Walter) Bay, Edward (Rose) Denton, grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie, Christian and Michael, and great grandchildren Lyla, Noah, Coral and Kane. She will be missed dearly by her children and all those who knew her.
