Margaret Carolina Nielson

Margaret Nielson passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Albert C. Nielson and twin sister to the late Stella Hilton. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Marge Wilson, Linda Yeager (Pete), Diane O’Grady (John), Debbie Contratti (Joe) and Evelyn Ostheimer. Her grandchildren Colleen Baudrau (Fred), Jennifer Dinan (Joe), Kevin O’Grady (Rachel), Andrea (Ostheimer) Friedman (Eli), Michele (Ostheimer) Kraemer (Brian), Shannon (O’Grady) Brown (Chris), Joe Contratti and Bradley Ostheimer. Her great grandchildren Chuck Miller, Cyndie Dinan (Steve), Emilie Dinan, Alysha Maines, Maggie Dinan, Brian Maines, Lucas Friedman, Cassandra Kraemer, Edward Kraemer and Ethan Friedman. Her great, great grandchildren Alyssa Miller, Chase Miller and Estelle Bortz. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Margaret was a Past Chief Daughter and 77 year member of the Daughters of Scotia and a retired member of the Mineola Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Hauppauge United Methodist Church at 1 PM. Burial will be Monday, August 13, 2018 10AM at Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.Pancan.org).
