On January 2nd, 2021, Lisette Coughlin, loving wife and mother of two, suddenly passed away a short week after the death of her husband at the age of 60. Lisette was born on February 12th, 1960 in Manhattan, New York to Angelo Rodriguez and Nidia Hernandez. Lisette grew up in New York City, graduating Jamaica High School, and attending St. John’s University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Communications. On September 11, 1992, she married Raymond Coughlin. Together they raised a daughter, Kendall Coughlin, and a son, Connor Coughlin.
Lisette was at her happiest chatting with people about their lives and toting the achievements of her children. She had a tendency to tell anyone who would listen about them. There was no one more sweet, friendly and generous than she was. Her husband always used to say that she would give the shirt off of her back for anyone she loved, especially her children. Kendall and Connor knew their mother loved them so, and also knew she loved her husband Ray, so much so that she couldn’t bear to live without him, following him into God’s loving embrace.
Lisette spent 20 years working on the Long Island Rail Road, and had recently retired to live right next to her daughter in Fort Myers, FL. She had an undying affection for thrift shopping (she never missed the chance to tell people she was able to stylishly furnish her entire condominium from the Goodwill), buying people gifts, watching Outlander with her daughter, nagging her son to call her more, binge watching TV (she was the pop culture queen), and being the most compassionate and loving human to every single person in her life. Lisette was beautiful inside and out with the dazzling, sometimes mischievous, smile to prove it. We know she now has no pain and is joyously dancing to disco music with her hubby in the big loud Studio 54 in the sky watching over us all.
Lisette was preceded in death by her father, Angelo, and her mother, Nidia. She is survived by her two children Kendall and Connor, her brother Ronald, and her sister Yvette.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Lisette with her family during visitation at Moloney’s Funeral Home Bohemia.
