Laurence Christopher Furnell

Laurence Christopher Furnell, originally of Elmont, NY passed away in Lake Mary, Florida on September 11, 2024.He was a devoted and loving husband to Pinky Furnell (nee Seiller) for 62 years. He and Pinky raised their four daughters and lived in Bay Shore , NY till 2018. A cherished father to Patricia Celano , Maria Crowley, Lara Kozersky, and Elizabeth Lebid. Proud Father in law to John Celano, Stephen Crowley, Alex Kozersky, Larry Lebid and very special “Ba” to Sarah Crowley, Jack Laurence Crowley, Ryan Kozersky, Daniel Laurence Kozersky John Celano James Laurence Celano, Zachary Lebid and Ava Lebid. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph & Angeline Furnell, his sister Winifred Pati, brother Francis Furnell and leaves behind 5 siblings, Joseph Furnell, Martin Furnell, Maria Bruckner, Angie Snow and Christopher Furnell. During his life Larry accomplished enough for 2 lifetimes. He served his county honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a national championship runner at St. John’s University and Idaho State. A beloved English teacher at St. Agnes Cathedral High School, track coach, and business owner. He loved following the weather, the NY Yankees, reading books and was a voracious reader going through 2-3 books a week. He said his favorite things about retirement were that he could watch all his favorite movies and read his favorite books all day long. A devout man, Larry attended All Souls Catholic Church in Lake Mary, Florida up until his passing.
