Laurel Lee Trapani

Laurel Trapani, 77, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 25, 1947, Laurel lived her entire life in Jackson Heights, Queens and spent her childhood summers at the family’s lake house in Millerton, NY.

Laurel married the love of her life, Joseph Trapani, on May 4, 1967, and together raised three sons. Laurel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting her family first. She loved Manhattan where she worked as an office manager, shopped at Macy’s and attended Broadway shows. During retirement Laurel enjoyed traveling to Europe, attending shows in Vegas, spending time with her family, as well as her early morning coffee and Entenmann’s.

She is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Vicki), Scott (Stephanie), Thomas (Donnalyn); grandchildren, Ryan (Lynnann), Abby, Matt, TJ, Joey and Hailey; sister, Linda (John) Daly; brother, Ray (JoAnn) Gottsleben.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Trapani; parents, Raymond and Louise Gottsleben; sister, Lisbeth (Tom) O’Connell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her favorite charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Laurel's name.
