Kristen Carol Scanna

On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, Kristen Carol Scanna, born September 22nd, 1965 of Holbrook, NY passed away at the age of 59. Kristen battled chronic illness for a very long time. Although her body gave up on her, she never gave up on us. She fought hard until the end. Kristen’s world was and forever will be her family.

 Kristen was married to her dedicated husband and best friend, Jerry Scanna Jr for almost 40 years in June 2025. Kristen has four children, Jennifer Scanna, Ericka Black, Jerry Scanna III, and Jesse Scanna… who she loved with all of her heart and they loved her just as much, as she was and ALWAYS will be the heart of her family.

 Kristen also leaves behind her father and friend, Pat Vessa. She was a true “Daddy’s Girl” and they had a very special bond. As well as her older sister and best friend, Lois Vollkommer and younger siblings, Steven Vessa, Stephanie Vanatta, and Tricia Davis.

 Kristen is preceded by her mother, Susan Vessa and younger brother, Angelo Vessa.

 Kristen also leaves behind her “in-law children” (as she called them, but loved very much), John Black, Dana Scanna, Tiffany Scanna, and Max Baez. Lastly, the “5 lights of her life”, her grandchildren or “Nonnie’s Babies”, Elizabeth Scanna, Jaxon Baez, Stella Scanna, Sophia Scanna and Jesse Scanna Jr.

 “We’ll love you forever, we’ll love you for always, forever and ever our mommy you’ll be.”

 Services will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, Ronkonkoma, NY
