June Ann Sexton

d. April 11, 2025

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, June Ann Sexton. June passed peacefully at home in East Moriches, NY, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous four year battle with pancreatic cancer.

June was born June 18, 1957 to Charles and Rose Howell and grew up in Center Moriches, NY. At the age of 17, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Sexton, a United States Marine, and began living her heartfelt dream, making a home and raising her two children, Jennifer and Amy.

June was a lover of all animals, from birds to English Bulldogs. She found peace in nature, from the glimmer on the creek to the scent of lavender, growing in her own English garden, and her home was always filled with the scent of something delicious baking. She had an ability to bring warmth and magic to the simple things that the rest of the world so often dismisses. Her presence was a blessing of joy and comfort, and was a reminder that sometimes the best things in life come in the smallest packages. June left a mark on all of our hearts, and our lives are better because of it. She will never be forgotten, we will see her in every blooming flower and hear her in every birdsong. Her life was full in all the ways that really matter and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will carry on for generations.

June is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Sexton and Amy Ferrari. Her three siblings; Kenneth Howell, Wendy Pierce, and Lorie Howell. June has six grandchildren; Brittany, Amber, Emily, Joshua, Janie and Savannah. And three great grandsons; Brett, Logan and Hudson. Her late husband, Kenneth Sexton, passed in June 2021 and they have been reunited in Heaven. She also leaves behind innumerable friends and many other family members and loved ones.

There will be a memorial service held at the Center Moriches Methodist Church on May 31, 2025 at 11:00 am. June especially loved small blooms and wildflowers. She would welcome and greatly appreciate donations to the Lustgarten Foundation (lustgarten.org), to help find a cure for pancreatic cancer and any honorary donations to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, a place that has always been held close to her heart. https://quoguewildliferefuge.org/memorial-donation/
