Brother, Uncle, Friend and retired Veteran Joseph Carney’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. Joseph passed away on May 21, 2021 at the age of 69, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor him by living their lives to the fullest.
Joseph was a loyal man who dedicated 20 years of service to the U.S. Navy. He fought in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a Devout Catholic and volunteered much of his time as an usher at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Joseph had a strong faith and treasured the simplest pleasures in life. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed music, swimming, was a certified SCUBA diver and an avid reader. He had the ability to find happiness in his daily activities. He was truly a dependable man, always willing to help anyone at any time.
There is a famous quote stating, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough”. Some of Joseph’s last words were, “I’m all good. No regrets.”
At the end of the day, Joseph lived a life full of love, bringing a smile to those around him and touching the hearts of many. Heaven gained another angel.
Joseph is survived by his siblings, Steve Carney (Kathy Carney), Pat Bueto, Celie Tempesta, Ann Fico (Ralph Fico), Kris Labartino-Murray (Larry), along with 15 nieces and nephews, 28 great-nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
