Joseph, more often called Fred or Freddy, Fredericks passed away on
1/4/2021, after battling the results of a stroke on June 14, 2017.
Fred was born on June 14, 1944, to Joseph and Marjorie Fredericks
New York, NY. The family later moved to Wyandanch, Long Island.
After graduating from High School, he entered the Air Force on June
19th, 1964 and became a Sergeant. He was honorably discharged on
June 19, 1968. Later in his life he also joined the National Guards and
fulfilled his duties during his weekends.
He met his wife Carla in 1971,while working for Nikon Europe B.V.,
located on Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
They married 4 years later, on April 10, 1975, and moved back to New
York in October 1977. They had two children, Freddie and Monique.
On the weekends Fred loved to hang out with his family and play
basketball.
In his later years he became a Mason and a member of Huntington
Lodge #124, an organization that supports various charities.
Fred is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marjorie Fredericks, his
sister Helen, his brother William, sister-in-law Judy Fredericks,
brothers-in-law Eddie Moore, Caroll Washington, and James Holden.
Fred is survived by his wife, Carla, his son Freddie and daughter
Monique, sisters Renetta, JoAnn and Joan, and brother Rodney,
brother-in-law John, and sister-in-law Michelle, and countless cousins,
nieces and nephews.
