Joseph Michael Ficarola

Joseph Ficarola, 75 years of age, passed away, March 2, 2023 at his home in Sarasota, FL.
Joe was born on July 11, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Jean Ficarola. Before serving as a Highway Patrol Sergeant in the New York City Police Department where he was the recipient of 12 citations for meritorious and excellent police duty, Joseph served in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army and was awarded the distinguished Purple Heart.
Joseph was married to his loving wife, Deborah Ficarola for 33 years. They shared a life in Northport, NY and then lastly, Sarasota, FL. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, friendship, and trust.
He was a husband, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend and all who knew him saw him as a trustworthy, loyal, confident, and generous man, who lived his life with determination, integrity, and conviction. Although a private and quiet man he often had a sense of humor that would catch many by surprise and keep them laughing for a long time to come. He took pride in his home and always lovingly welcomed family and friends into it.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, friends, family and all who knew him.
