Joseph Marchia

Jospeh Marchia, blessed with 86 years of life, passed away peacefully on October 31 surrounded by his loving family listening to his favorite music of Turandot, Act 3: Nessun Dorma. Beloved husband of Joyce Marchia (Levardsen) for 62 years. Cherished father of Karen (Steve); Kenneth (Cheryl); and predeceased by Michael. He was the proud loving Papa of Casey Pearsall, Makenna Pearsall and Liam Pearsall. Beloved brother to Catherine and predeceased by Carmine and Anthony. Loved by many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was born to Anthony and Angelina Marchia on March 5, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. After attending Brooklyn Tech and serving in Korea as a draftsman in the Army Corps of Engineers he married the true love of his life who he called his “bride”. They moved to Greenlawn, New York where they spent the next 57 years raising their family and enjoying their life together.

We will miss the endless stories associated with the projects and buildings he worked on in New York City – the skyline will forever reflect his passion.

His contagious laugh, sense of humor, his voracious hunger for knowledge and endless patience to find the perfect equation or statistic to solve whatever it was he was thinking about. His many interests kept him so incredibly interesting – he was trying new things up to his last day. His greatest gift was his love of family, which was only second to loving his wife, Joyce.

Celebration of Life Saturday, November 4th 2pm – 6pm, private cremation to follow.
