Rockensies, John William of Smithtown, NY on March 5, 2011 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Marion. Loving father of Kenneth (Emma) and Karen (John) Steinbeck. Cherished grandfather of Candice Steinbeck Manuel (Noah) and Edward Rock (Pamela).

Reposing at Moloneys Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840 Wheeler Road (Rte.111), Hauppauge, NY where a religious service will be held Monday at 8PM. Funeral Service at Funeral Home Tuesday, 10AM. Interment following at All Faiths Cemetery, Glendale, Queens.

Mr. Rockensies worked for Grumman Aerospace as an engineer on the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) for the Apollo Space Program and the F-14 Tomcat Fighter Program. During his retirement, Mr. Rockensies worked as an expert guide at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. In lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity appreciated. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
