John F. Wherry "Jack"

Wherry, John F. “Jack” of Jamesport, NY passed on April 24th, 2021 in his 86th year. Jack was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Margaret Wherry as well as by his beloved son Kevin. Jack will be dearly missed by his loving wife Judith and his four cherished daughters Laura McKenna (Michael), Donna Goldsmith (Mark), Lisa and Kathleen Wherry as well as his step son William Smith (Sarah). Jack was loved greatly by his grandchildren Jeremy (Christina), Jason (Danielle), Joe (Janine), Carelee(Sean), Jake, Cody, Russell, Ryan, Katieann, Matthew, Kasey, Olivia, Madison, Emma, Leah, and Noah; and his great grandchildren Ryleigh, Ava, and Aidan. Jack absolutely adored his entire family, and they meant the world to him. Not only was Jack a devoted family-man, but he was one of the first  dedicated members of the Suffolk County Police Department where he worked as a homicide detective; as well as the president of the PBA. A man that served his entire career to help keep the residents of NY safe, and a man that dedicated his love and life to his family will be truly missed by all. Visitation will be held at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Wednesday from 3-5, and 7-9. The funeral service will begin promptly Thursday at 10AM at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home followed by cremation at the Nassau-Suffolk Crematory. We will be escorted to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Friday by the Suffolk County Police Department from Moloney’s Lake Ronkonkoma at 11:30AM.
