John Reuschle was born on January 1, 1953 to William and Joan Reuschle of Babylon, NY. He passed away after a short battle with cancer on December 3, 2021 with his family by his side. He is predeceased by his parents William and Joan Reuschle and his sister Joan Kerekes. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his four children, Greg (Sarina), Matt (Laura), Sue (Kyle) and Katie (Jory). His six grandchildren, Grey, Lilah, Carter, Jordan, Avery, and James. His two brothers Rick and Mark, sister Erin and many nieces and nephews. John grew up in Babylon and spent the last 46 years living in Sayville, NY.
John was a tradesman and enjoyed working with his hands. He spent his early career building F-14 Tomcats and A-6 Intruder airplanes for United States Navy before becoming a marine mechanic. John was a lifelong boat builder, fisherman and clammer who enjoyed sharing his expertise of the Great South Bay. He could make or fix anything and had a love for woodworking, hydroponic gardening and helping other people solve mechanical problems.
John will be remembered as a master storyteller who enjoyed sharing his animated tales with friends and family. Most importantly he will be remembered as a thoughtful, loving husband, father, pops, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
