Joanne M. Ruta

Joanne Ruta, of Eastport, LI, passed away gently, surrounded by her loving family, Jan 6,2023.

Joanne, born Joanne Garrison, married Angelo (Sonny Ruta) September 28, 1957. Together they raised their family of 6 children, Gary, Kim, Glenn, Lynn, Susan & Jill in West Babylon for 53 years before retiring to Eastport, NY & Bonita Springs, FL. Joanne was gainfully employed through the Town of Babylon’s Highway Dept for many years before retiring.  Joanne will be fondly remembered and missed by her 6 children, their respective spouses, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and the many wonderful friends she made throughout her life’s journey.  Joanne’s zest for life, undeniable faith in God and irreplaceable sense of humor shall remain a legacy for all to remember.
