Joan Anne Marsich

Joan Anne Marsich, 89, of Holbrook, New York, passed away on March 2, 2023 with her family by her side. Joan was born on July 26, 1933 to Frank and Mary Melville (Kirland) in Queens, New York. In 1956, Joan married Norman J. Marsich in Manhattan, New York. Joan and Norman went on to have four children, John, James, Michael, and Maryanne (Liebold). Joan and Norman relocated to Brentwood, New York in 1960, and then to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2003 to be close to her son Michael and family.

After Norman’s death in 2010, Joan moved to Holbrook, New York to be close to her daughter Maryanne, and son’s John and James, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Norman, and sister Mary Sole. Joan is survived by her brother, Peter Melville, her four children, seven grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Steven, Michael, Nicole, Robert, and Mikayla; two great-grandchildren, Ashlei and Aviana, and one on the way, Madelyn. Joan is also survived by her nieces and nephews, who referred to their Aunt as “Honey.”

Joan was a devote Roman Catholic, who enjoyed going to mass. She also enjoyed her family who brought her immense joy and happiness. Joan also enjoyed baseball and football.
Joan will be greatly missed for her love of family, her great sense of humor, and most of all her kindness to others.
