Joan Izzi

Joan was born to the late Nancy and Michael Stanzione, December 16, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY.   She attended school at PS160 in Brooklyn and continued her education at Central Needle Trades in Manhattan.  After working a short spell for Electrolux Company in Manhattan, she married Michael Izzi of Brooklyn in 1958, whom she met through a friend at school.

Throughout her early years of marriage, she spent most of her time raising her three children at her first home in Plainview, NY.  At the time the family had an A Frame home in the Catskills, built by her husband Mike, where she and the family spent time away from home.  In 1980 the family moved to Hauppauge.

The children were getting older and she got a job working for the IRS.  She and Mike decided to buy a waterfront condo in Florida in 1990 and sold the A Frame. She retired in 1994 a year after her husband and they both began to spend time at their homes in Hauppauge NY and Hutchinson Island FL with family and many friends at both locations.

She was the ultimate wife and mother, and loved to cook.  She has three loving children, Karen, Richard and Steven, and seven wonderful grandchildren, Kira, Sarah, Michael, Gianni, Alessandro, Brynn and Paul.  She was very proud of the professional accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was loved by all and will be missed by all.
