James J. Murphy

James J. Murphy age 78 of Hauppauge, NY and North Ft. Meyers, FL and formerly of Jackson Heights, NY. Son of the late Catherine and William J. Murphy. Devoted husband of Joan M nee (DeSocio). Devoted father of James, Laura-Jean Natan ( David) and Christine Abbatiello (Don). Loving grandfather to Cassidy, Brianna, Maylin, Sarah, Kyle, Lucas, Jacob and Madelyn. Survived by his sisters, brother in law and sisters in laws, nieces, nephews and several long time friends who are considered family.
Veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service UDT. Retired from the NY Telephone Company, Ex- Captain of Truck Company of the Hauppauge Fire Department and member for 52 years. Member of the Submariners Veteran Association, Suffolk County Emerald Society, Suffolk County Volunteer Firemans Association and former Boy Scout leader Troop 343 Hauppauge NY.
