Henry was drafted into the United States Army in March 1964 during the Vietnam War, serving with pride in Okinawa and Korea as part of the Missile Battalion. He returned home in March 1965 due to his father's illness, finishing his tour at Governor’s Island. His time in the service instilled in him a profound sense of duty and resilience that defined his character.
After his military service, Henry enjoyed a long career as a truck driver for Carolina Freight Carriers, dedicating 25 years to the open road. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, always bringing laughter to those around him.
In April 1968, Henry married the love of his life, Ann. Together, they built a beautiful home in April 1972, where they raised their five daughters. Their marriage of 56 years was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Henry had a passion for cars and the ocean, finding joy in the thrill of a well-engineered vehicle and the tranquility of the sea. Whether he was working on a classic car or enjoying a day at the beach, he embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; his five daughters; four sons-in-law; and thirteen grandchildren, all of whom adored him. Henry's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember him for his infectious laughter, unwavering love, and adventurous spirit.
