Helen was born in the Bronx to George and Rose Wund just before the Great Depression. She married Joseph in 1944 and they raised four children together until Joseph passed in 1979. Helen was a telephone operator for Bell telephone for forty years and at 99 could still remember phone numbers and exchanges from all over the country. She treated herself to a new 1987 Monte Carlo which she owned until her death. She enjoyed traveling to visit her grandchildren and loved family gatherings and apricot sours. Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune were her favorite shows and she played Jumble on her Ipad until the very end. She took in stray cats and raised many dogs. Helen was a devout Catholic who watched Mass every day on TV and attended St. John of God church for almost 60 years. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Vincent and grandson Joseph. She leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity Boys Town Nebraska.
