Georgene "Genie" Ann Gibson

Genie Gibson of Boca Raton, Florida and formerly of Westhampton Beach and Center Moriches, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 9th from complications following a surgery.  She was 80 years old.

Genie was born on November 20, 1940 in Queens New York to Henry and Barbara Luhrs.  She graduated from Eastport High School and shortly thereafter was employed by the Bath and Tennis Hotel in Westhampton Beach.  It was there that she met the love of her life, Paul M.Gibson, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in Westhampton Beach.  They married on May 9, 1959.  A natural leader, she continued her career at The Bath and Tennis Hotel and four additional hotels, working her way to becoming Managing Director of these properties, retiring after 30 years.   After retiring, she moved to Boca Raton with her husband Paul where they lived together until Paul’s passing in 2003.  Genie was an active member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Boca Raton volunteering much of her time there.

Genie is survived by her three children, Paul M. Gibson II of Center Moriches and Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Deborah Vickers of Remsenburg, New York, and Henry Gibson of Boca Raton, Florida, as well as seven grandchildren, Paul III, Glenn, Stephanie, Samantha, Hannah, Amanda and Hayden, and three great-grandchildren, Harper, Tanner, and Jayce.

Genie will be terribly missed and always remembered by her many friends and family.
