George Martin Harmel, Jr.

Harmel, George Martin, Jr. of Nesconset, NY on May 19, 2021 in his 76th year. Beloved husband to his wife of 53 years, Maria (Monaco) Harmel. Loving father of Lara Harmel-Schulz Esq. (Dean), Kimberly Harmel-Graves (Keith) and Kristin Harmel plus 14 grandchildren: Nicholas, Gabriel, Samantha, Sophia, Julianna, Luke, Alexandra, Jessica, Noah, Emily, Raymond, Randall, Joslin and Sadie.

In his youth, George was a record-setting multi-sport athlete at Archbishop Molloy High School. He then attended the Air Force Academy and dedicated years with the Air Force Reserves. He continued his education at St. John’s University (’68) and New York Law School (’72). George was admitted to both New York (’73) and Florida Bar Associations, and practiced law and passionately helped others for over 45 years.

George loved his chosen profession, the Florida sunshine, RV travel, watching the New York Giants and Yankees, and his dachshunds.  George’s loyalty to family and friends, his strong ethics and contagious humor will be forever missed by all who knew him.

George’s family will receive visitors Saturday, 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Holy Cross R.C. Church, Nesconset. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Committal service at the Mother Teresa Tribute Center, Lake Ronkonkoma. Cremation at the Nassau Suffolk Crematory, Lake Ronkonkoma. www.moloneyfh.com
