George A. De Fronzo, age 83, died peacefully on May 16, 2023. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 12, 1939 to Gondolfa and George V. De Fronzo. Along with his younger sister Paula, the family made several moves before finally settling in New Hyde Park where he graduated from Mineola High School in 1957.

After marrying his wife Eugenia in 1963, they settled in Hauppauge in 1966 where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life there. Geroge is survived by his wife of 59 years Eugenia, daughter Joanne (husband Chuck), his sister Paula, daughter-in-law Keri and grandchildren Hailey and Brenan as well as a great granddaughter Lilah. He is preceded in death by his son Craig.

George had so many interests and hobbies throughout his life, from always tinkering on cars to drag racing at the local tracks on Long Island during the 1960’s, to scale model building, collecting die cast cars, to being a Lionel Train enthusiast and repairing and restoring Lionel trains for many of the clientele of local hobby shops on Long Island.

George was a perfectionist and had an eye for detail when scale model building, some of his work was featured in Popular Mechanics magazine as well as having a scale model diorama featured on display aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid Air & Space Museum located in New York City. He belonged to several scale modeling clubs including the Long Island Automobile Replica Society (L.I.A.R.S) as well as the American Airpower Museum located at Republic Airport in Farmingdale.

George’s family and friends are mourning his loss, but they take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. He will always be deeply missed and loved but will never be forgotten.
