Genevieve Mattera

Genevieve Mattera “Jenny”, age 79, of Holbrook passed away, Saturday January 30, 2021. She was a graduate of Mable Dean Bacon High School in Manhattan. Jenny was a beautician, homemaker, and loved painting. She met her loving husband at the age of 15 and together they remained a part of each other for 64 years with unwavering love. Jenny’s family was her world and the love and support she gave to all will remain within us. She is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Great-grandmother, and friend. As a devote Catholic, she rarely missed church (because if she did, she would let you know it!) and never lost faith throughout life. Preceded in death by her mother Petra Lopez and mother-in-law Jean Mattera. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband Richard of 57 years – married on May 23, 1964; sister to Adam, Antonia, Frederick, and Manuel; sister-in-law to Barbara and Lucy; mother and mother-in-law to Debbie, Donna, Matthew, and Richard, Brian, and Lori; grandmother to Anthony, Michael, Kristen, Ashley, Andrew, Tyler and Anna; and great-grandmother to Aleena, Jasmine, and Makenzie.
