Florence Picarello passed away peacefully at home in Hauppauge, NY on November 29, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Florence’s greatest love was her family and her children were proud to call her Mom.
She was born in the Bronx in 1936 to the late Leonard and Rose Volpe with her dearest siblings Annette and Leonard.
She met the love of her life, Dominick Picarello, at a dance in the Bronx. They were married on July 22, 1961 and enjoyed 62 years of happily married life.
Florence is survived by her beloved husband, Dominick, cherished children, Lisa, Donnie, and Michael, son-in-law, Tony, daughters-in-law, Mary and Sabeen, and her adoring grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Justin, Jake, Tyler, Evan, and Olivia.
She will always be remembered for her quick wit and love for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Florence will be held at Moloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840 Wheeler Road, Hauppauge, NY, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
A funeral service will occur at Parish of the Holy Cross, 95 Nichols Road, Nesconset, NY, on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 10:30am, followed by a graveside service at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY.
