In 1945, Ezequiel “Zeke” Suarez, was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 1950, when he was 5, he moved to New York City with his father and grew up in West Harlem with both his father Ezequiel, and mother, Valentina. Zeke was a smart young man who excelled not only academically, but in sports as well. He was a standout basketball player at his high school, where he held the record for most points scored. He later met and went on to marry Linda Matos and they had 2 sons, Damien and Derek whom they raised on Long Island.
Zeke was a natural born entertainer with a big personality who loved to charm and make people laugh and smile. He was always the life of the party. He loved to sing and perform on stage and thrived at it. He enjoyed helping and comforting others. On January 20th, at the age of 75, our beloved Zeke passed away. He leaves behind many family and friends that loved and adored him. Everyone that knew Zeke will truly miss him. He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and so much more to so many. He truly was our superstar!
