Ernestine Johnson Gudzik

Born in Garfield, GA on June 2, 1921, “Tina” passed peacefully on August 8, 2021. She was 100 years old. A long-time resident of Port Jefferson, she graduated from Georgia State College for Women and taught elementary school at Comsewogue School District from 1955-1976. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling, was an avid golfer, bridge player and gardener. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ken and eldest son Mike (Susan), Tina is survived by her children Dan (Barbara) Gudzik and Pat (Jack) West, along with six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Tina was a Past Worthy Matron of Suwassett Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson, the Port Jefferson Yacht Club, and the Port Jefferson Country Club.

The family will receive visitors at Moloney Funeral Home in Port Jefferson Station on Wednesday, August 11 from 5-8 PM. The Gudzik and West families request that masks be worn by all guests during visitation. There will be a private interment at Sea View Cemetery in Mount Sinai on Thursday morning.

Donations to Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson would be greatly appreciated.
