Ellen Marie Klein

d. May 19, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Klein. Ellen passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of May 19th, 2024 at the Kanas Hospice Center in Quogue, NY.   Ellen is survived by her husband Chris of 53 years, her daughters Alison, Deirdre, and Jan, sons in law, Jason and Justin, grandchildren Ivan, Elie, Justin, and Quinn. Ellen’s mother Dorothy, brothers Jack and Michael, sisters Marion and Kathy, nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends who loved her.

Ellen grew up in the “Mets” in Astoria, Queens, attending Immaculate Conception Grammer School and Marter Christi High School.  She moved to the Boulevard Gardens in Woodside with Chris to raise their family.   When their children were grown, they moved the Yaphank, NY, enjoying life out east.  In retirement, Ellen and Chris spent winters in Del Ray Beach FL, enjoying the friends they met there and the warm weather.

Ellen adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  For fun, she liked to go to the casino with friends, Atlantic City, Connecticut, and Florida were her favorite spots.  She looked forward to family weekends in Seaside Heights, NJ.   She had so many friends and enjoyed sharing a cup of tea or a glass of wine with them.  Ellen was always there to listen and give advice.  A celebration of Ellen’s life is being planned.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ellen’s name to East End Hospice, who gave her comfort in her final days.
