Elizabeth Loretta Ann Parez, age 92, passed away peacefully in her beloved home on July 18, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph H. Parez, and her son, Joseph H. Parez Jr. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Alexis, Jessica (Edwin) Ward, Gretchen (Michael) Baviello, Christopher, Jonathan (Tina), Tracy Carfora, Jennifer (Lee) Porter, Erica Tattersall, Jamie Tattersall, and Joshua (Kathy). She was blessed with grandchildren Jacob, Nichole, Scarlett, Alexa Rose, Ian, Rebecca, and William, and Great-grand Children Dahlia, Maxwell, Makaylyn, Aiden, Collin, and Vivienne.
Elizabeth was born in Boston and moved to New York as a child. Betty, as she was affectionately known, found joy in baking and gardening, hobbies she cherished deeply. Betty's quick wit and sense of humor brought laughter to her family and friends. Betty's house on Bea Avenue was her sanctuary for over 60 years. Yummy baked goods and an array of delicious meals could always be found in Betty's kitchen. Bettys' children could always count on traditions like St Nicks day with a shoe full of candy, fresh baked stollen and Easter baskets full of favorites, German breakfast crepes, late night swimming, pool parties, and summer BBQ's with her famous sausage and peppers. Valuing diverse perspectives and giving back to community were traits she and Joseph instilled in their children. Her strength, wit, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
