Eileen Macholz-Barr

Eileen Mary Macholz-Barr, born August 4, 1967, passed away peacefully with her husband and children by her side on February 22, 2025. With a strong faith, and love for God, family was a central part of her life. 

She spent her working career being a Suffolk County Police Officer for 20 years, while raising her four children. Eileen was excited to try new avenues including Patrol, Dare and Marine Bureau. She earned a Masters in Education after a very athletic High School career; including Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, and Field Hockey. She had a zest for life; was a black belt in karate, loved all animals, being outdoors & enjoying nature, hiking, horseback riding and traveling, in addition to being artistically creative and learning sign language for one of her favorite cousins. Her signature look was her long, red curly hair - which she passed down to all of her children. 

She is survived by her husband Mike, children, Michael, Shannon, Mikayla & Kathleen. Pre deceased by her parents, Carol & Harold, in-laws Susan and Neil, and brother in law, James. Survived by her second mom, Elizabeth, and devoted siblings, Tommy (Jodi), Mary (Robert), Lawrence (Nancy), Maureen (d.) (Kevin), Gerard (Diana), Peter (Caren), 14 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew. 

She had so many loyal and longtime friends, whose outpouring of support & memories of Eileen are a testament to her vibrant life and how many people she loved and was loved by.
