Edward Merrill , 79,
August 28, 1943-August 29, 2022.
Edward is survived by his wife June Merrill (Egeland), son David Merrill, daughter Claire Ceru and son in law Rob Ceru, Grandsons Robert Arthur Ceru and Charles Edward Ceru, and Brother Don Merrill(Mae)of South Dakota. Preceded in death by his granddaughter Allison June Ceru, his brother David Merrill, and his parents George and Ruth Merrill(Gause). He will be missed by his cousin Judy Bolek of Arkansas plus many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born in Harrisburg Pa., Ed was raised in South Dakota by Alyce and Frank Merrill. After entering the US Army, Ed met his wife June in Brooklyn, NY and returned to her after his 3 years of service. He became a NYC Transit Police Officer and retired after 21 yrs of service.
Ed and June began their marriage in SI, NY and moved to Long Island where they have been living for 50 of their 53 years of marriage. He enjoyed reading, watching Fox News, and summers at Culver Lake.
Forever a patriot, Ed loved the flag, the constitution, and all things America. He instilled his values in his grandchildren and was so proud they both chose to become Scouts. Charlie is a Cub Scout and Robert is on the path to become an Eagle Scout.
Ed read his Bible, Genesis to Revelation twice and believed every word written.
He was an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. We will forever miss you.
The viewing will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at Moloney’s Funeral Home

11am-12:45pm with a prayer service immediately after.
