Donna Lee Cappiello

Donna Lee Cappiello “Mama” (DiCanio), age 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.  After raising her children, Donna earned her BS from Old Westbury and went on to become a Program Manager at several Long Island based companies for over twenty years.

As a longtime resident of Holtsville, Donna was a loving mother to oldest son, Anthony (Aleksandra), daughter, Denise (Gary), and youngest son, Thomas. Her truest passion in life was spending her time with her three beautiful grandchildren, Gerry Jr., Nicole Lee and Anthony Jr.  She is survived by brothers Gary and Samuel (Rejane) DiCanio and many relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mama will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and an absolute zest for life. Hosting “Sunday Dinners” at her house was her gift to our family to ensure that we always spent fun time together. Mama epitomizes the truest definition of Mother and Friend and was the center and strength of our family. Donna is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Hazel DiCanio. She will forever be loved by so many.
