Beloved Husband, Devoted Father, Adored Grandfather, Admired Navy Veteran
Dominick Picarello passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Dom’s greatest love and source of pride was his family and he was his children’s hero.
He was born in Brooklyn in 1936 to the late William and Theresa Picarello, with his brothers, Philip and William (Bill).
Dom met the love of his life, Florence, at a dance in the Bronx. They were married on July 22, 1961 and enjoyed 62 years of happily married life, until her passing in November 2023.
He was a proud and admired Navy veteran, serving on the USS Forrestal in the 1950s. Following his service, he was a dedicated employee to American Airlines for 40 years.
Dom is survived by his devoted children, Lisa, Donnie, and Michael, son-in-law, Tony, daughters-in-law, Mary and Sabeen, and his adoring grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Justin, Jake, Tyler, Evan, and Olivia.
He will always be remembered for his quick wit and the twinkle in his eye for his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is now reunited with his dear Florence for eternity.
A visitation for Dom will be held at Moloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840-Wheeler Road, Hauppauge, NY, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
A funeral service will occur at Parish of the Holy Cross, 95 Nichols Road, Nesconset, NY, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at followed by a graveside service at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY.
