Diane Elsie Burdge

d. January 31, 2023

Diane E. Burdge – September 24, 1946 – January 31, 2023

Diane left us on January 31, 2023 in her home in Coin, Iowa. Born in Queens NY, as a young girl, Diane had a passion for singing along with anything she heard, especially Broadway Showtunes. Diane was a vivacious reader who loved to learn, and was awarded her graduating
class’s best overall foreign language student in high school for her prodigious fluency in French. Diane went on to graduate from Stony Brook University where she aspired to share her passion for learning through teaching. Diane was pridefully planless and
had an adventurous spirit that was best exhibited in her decision to abruptly move to Los Angeles to elope with the love of her life, Anthony in 1970. A woman with a tremendous, caring heart, Diane later traded careers after returning to the College of Staten
Island to study nursing where she then spent the rest of her career as a registered nurse.

Diane left behind many loving friends and family members. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Anthony E. Burdge, their four sons, Anthony, Kevin, Timothy, David, and two granddaughters Emily and Hannah Burdge. Diane will be laid to rest in Calverton Cemetery
in NY on February 9th, 2023. Diane felt the soundtrack to her life could best be heard by listening to Edith Piaf’s song, Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Conception Abbey, a Benedictine monastery located in northwest Missouri, where Diane and Anthony loved to frequently visit and spend time.
