Dennis Russell Bengtson "Russ"

Russ resided with his immediate family in Centereach though his reach was felt far and wide by the numerous people he helped in his lifetime.  Russ worked as a member of the FDNY(L103 in East NY for 22 years and for 11 years with the Bureau of Fire Investigation retiring as a Supervising Fire Marshal).  He also contributed his skills and time to Creative Ministries Performing Art Center and the Long Island Association of Retired Firefighters.  Through his everyday actions, Russ was a true gentleman and his generous spirit lives on through those he positively impacted. What Russ leaves behind is not what is engraved on stone monuments,  but what is woven into the lives of others.  Russ’ memory will be etched in our hearts forever.  We feel blessed to have been part of such an extraordinary life.  Rest In Peace, our Hero.
