Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Adamantia Margiellos, daughter and spouse Tatiana and Frank Labate, son Nikitas Stavros Margiellos, his two grandsons and spouses; Frank Christopher and Lauren Labate, Christo James and Sarah Labate, his grandson and namesake Demetrios Margiellos, his granddaughters Dimitra Labate and Amanda Tia Margiellos, and his precious great grandchildren; Brooke Sandra Labate, Gabriella Michele Demopoulos, Frank James Labate, and Lucas Ralph Labate.
Demetrios, also lovingly referred to as Jimmy, Mimi and Pappou, was loved and adored by his family. He loved passing on the wisdom and knowledge he accumulated through his richly exciting life to his family. He was of Greek Heritage, born in Port Said, Egypt to Nikitas Margiellos and Grammatiki Sindros Margiellos. He lived there until the age of 12. His father being a fisherman, the Suez Canal provided work and income to the family and many adventures for the young and adventurous Demetrios. He spoke the swahili language and was a competitive swimmer during his childhood in Port Said, which he spoke about as a childhood paradise. At 13, his family moved back to Greece, where Demetrios continued his education while working to help support his family. In Greece is where he met the love of his life, Adamantia Zoidis. Shortly after they met, he joined the Merchant Marines for several years. During those years, he traveled the world and saw many marvels and wonders that he would never forget and often tell stories of. When Demetrios returned to Greece he married his sweetheart and they immigrated to the USA, where they settled and raised their family. He worked two and three jobs because he had a dream to fulfill. Demetrios established his mold making company A&D Tool, Inc in 1980, fulfilling his dream as an Entrepreneur. He worked hard and with passion. He loved reading and learning, fishing and the sea. He was a private man who took joy and pride in his family. We will truly miss him.
"Pappou filled up his heart with love and then passed it on to all of us, and now that's where he lives on."
