I don’t think any of us imagined the day we would have to say goodbye to Cleve. The patriarch of our family. The one who always reminds us what comes first, the FAMILY. Cleve lived for his family and by those values day in and day out.

A United States Navy Veteran, leading him to hairdressing school where he would meet his beloved. A talented & dedicated beautician for 50+ years, taking clients and enjoying his craft up until..less than 6 months ago!

Cleve was a man of routine and that is what kept him going & preserving throughout his life. Whether it was his morning walks & exercise routines, befriending wildlife in the yard, tending to his plants, working on his wine, logging his horse races, driving Camille nuts in the kitchen or watching his favorite history channel. He was always doing something and staying busy.

Cleve enjoyed life, appreciated the beautiful things, raised us all to appreciate and connect with our surroundings. He loved the beach, the ocean, dancing, fishing, fresh caught shellfish, cooking for people, sharing his joys & passions, and making people laugh with one liners. Also a fabulous joke teller.

When it came to Cleve’s passions, he did everything with precision & grace. We can all see him right now talking with his hands & facial expressions so excited to explain the wine making process, or his famous seafood salad. Easter pie, fermented cherries & peppers, or the science behind his massive basil & parsley plants.

He created a “wonderful life”, an amazing husband to Camille, father to Diane, Chrissy & Doreen and their spouses Michael, Douglas & Paul. And to his grandchildren Jenifer, Elyssa, Alexander and Laney. His outstanding personality earned him many friends!

Rest in Peace to the patriarch of our family. Family celebrations will never be the same without your welcoming energy, unmatched bottles of homemade red wine, and our notorious post dinner singing to the Mamas & Papas (creeque alley), Louie Prima and all your other favs. Your echoing singing voice will live rent free in our minds forever. Our memories with you are timeless. Your values taught & great memories will live on with us. We love you.
