Charles H. Salinger

Charles Henry Salinger, 89 passed away, Thursday November 30,  2017  at his home in Delray Beach  Florida surrounded by his loving family

He leaves behind his true love in life, his wife of 63 years Nancy ; his three children Laura Cisek and husband James , Karen Salinger-Zani and husband Daniel , Jeffrey Salinger and wife Nancy ; four grandchildren Michelle Fischer and partner Shannon Ward; Ian Fischer and wife Stephanie ;Jason Habekost and wife Kelly ;KerriAnn Habekost; great grandchild Kaley .

Born in Berlin Germany, he immigrated to America. He became a US Citizen, served  in the Army, fought in the Korean War and was a purple heart recipient.

In 1954, Charles and Nancy were married and settled in Massapequa NY for 40 years. He worked as a Compositor for Newsday and over his 33 years career, he transitioned  into the computer age before retiring to Delray Beach, Florida

Charles had a passion for sports.  He coached for the Massapequa soccer club and became a certified bowling coach for the PAL, doing both for 20 years . He was an avid golfer and swimmer.

He will be missed by his family and friends

Memorial Service will be held on December 9, 2017 from 1pm-3pm at Moloney-Sinnicksons Funeral Home in Center Moriches N.Y. 11934 – 631-878-0065
