With faith in God, hope for our eternal home and unceasing love for our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the family of Carole Katheryn Jelinek announce her passing on November 3, 2024 at the age of 83. Carole is predeceased by her husband Ronald Jelinek and survived by her children Cynthia Porter (Donald), Suzanne Nies (Jerry) and Ronald Jelinek (Kate) as well as her grandchildren Alexandra Porter, Ryan Porter, Connor Nies (Clare), Gavin Nies, Ava Nies, Grace Jelinek, Anna Jelinek and Caroline Jelinek and her great grandchildren Fulton Nies, Therese Nies and Pieta Nies.
Carole was a lifelong Catholic who devoted herself to her faith and her family. Before relocating to Cumming, Georgia, Carole was a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick’s in Smithtown, New York where she was active in various ministries, most especially the Right-to-Life group. Her most cherished memories were of time spent with her children and her children’s families at her home on Bow Drive. She enjoyed gardening, reading (especially mysteries and WW II novels) and trips to Short Beach. Her family will miss her beyond words.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (280 East Main Street, Smithtown, NY 11787). In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations be made to the National Right to Life ( https://nrlc.org/ ) or Birthright USA ( https://birthright.org/ ).
