ONORATO, Bernard A. of Holbrook, NY on May 13, 2023, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Donna. Cherished father of Bernie (Diana) Onorato, Gary (Pamela) Onorato, Steven (Mollie) Tartaglia, and Lillian Maizer. Loving Pop to Matthew. Bernie was known to many as “Pop” and touched the lives of so many that he encountered. Born in Brooklyn, January 2, 1936, to Mary and Peter Onorato with brother Philip and sisters Marion and Rosalie.
In the 1970’s he worked in NYC in the plumber’s union on High Rise buildings. He has two sons Bernie and Gary. They moved to Long Island in 1974.
There he started Classic Plumbing and Heating, his own successful plumbing business. He loved to fly fish in the Nissequogue River and tie his own flies. He pitched league softball and bowled for many teams over the years. He loved to draw and paint but most of all he loved his family.
Memorial Visitation Wednesday, May 17th, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home, 825 Main St., Holbrook, NY., with a Funeral Service taking place in the Funeral Home 10AM Thursday, May 18th. Burial of cremated remains to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.
